How do I become a qualified Cheerleading Coach?

You have 2 options:
First

  • Access the diary dates and select an appropriate course
  • Fill in a Course Application Form and email it to ukca@hotmail.co.uk
  • Cheerleading Courses
  • Street Cheer Courses
  • You will be contacted by email to confirm your place on the course
  • If there is not a course in your area or you are looking to qualify a number of people, you may be interested in hosting a course.

How do I host a Cheerleading course?
In order to host a course you need to do the following:

  • Have the use of suitable venue (see venue requirements below)
  • Have minimum of 20 participants (you will be charged for 20 places even if you cannot fill them)
  • Have a selection of preferred dates
  • Check the UKCA Website www.ukca.org.uk to see if your preferred dates are available
  • Download a Course Booking Form
  • Cheerleading Course Organiser’s Booking Form
  • Street Cheer Course Organiser’s Booking Form
  • Fill in the relevant information and email it to ukca@hotmail.co.uk (please ensure that all the venue requirements are met)
  • You will be contacted by email to confirm your course booking
  • You will be required to send the names of participants prior to the course

What are the venue requirements?
The host venue must have the following things:

  • Sole use of a clean, warm room with floor space of at least 3 badminton courts and seating for the number of participants attending the course
  • Access to male, female and disabled toilets
  • Tea, coffee and refreshments facilities
  • A TV/projector and DVD player
  • Access to a stereo/CD player
  • Parking facilities

What information do we need to give the participants we are sending on the course?
They will need to have the following information prior to the course:

  • The course is 90% practical work and 10% written work, and they will be required to participate in the majority of it (Any medical conditions need to be highlighted to the tutor on the day)
  • Wear suitable clothing for physical activity – trainers are essential, loose fitting clothing, sportswear etc.
  • Bring water/refreshments
  • Whether you will be providing lunch for them, or if they need to bring their own
  • There is no formal assessment. Qualification is awarded for participation on the day (at the discretion of the course tutor)
  • All course material will be provided
  • The reason they are attending the course, so the tutor can offer the best training to suit their needs
  • Course venue and times
